Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Sunday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (day shift)
Hours per Week: 35
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering patient-centered care and evidence-based treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic exercises, modalities, and mobility training to help patients regain function
- Monitor patient progress, document clinical observations, and communicate changes to the PT
- Provide safe patient handling, transfers, and ambulation support to promote independence
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and fall-prevention strategies
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or eligible for licensure in California
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Prior experience in post-acute, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a patient-first attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with therapeutic exercise progressions and modalities used in rehab
- Skilled in safe patient handling, transfers, and gait training
- Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic health record systems
- Ability to teach and motivate patients and family members
- Teamwork, time management, and adaptability in a fast-paced post-acute environment
