Shift Type: Day shift — either five 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM shifts (36 hours/week) or four 10-hour days, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with a rotating call schedule that includes weekdays, weekends and possible holiday call (day/rotating)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing care in the general OR, ensuring patient safety from pre-op to recovery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR team members to coordinate efficient surgical care
• Maintain sterile technique and OR protocols to reduce infection risk and support excellent outcomes
• Perform thorough pre- and post-operative assessments and document care accurately in Epic EMR
• Participate in the rotating call schedule (Call 1/Call 2) and provide coverage on assigned weekends and holidays
• Advocate for patients and families by communicating clearly and compassionately throughout the surgical experience
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support unit workflows during variable census/staffing

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (able to work in Ohio — compact license acceptable where applicable)
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 3 years of current or recent Operating Room experience (required)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR (required)
• Robotic, neuro or orthopedic OR experience recommended (preferred)
• Willingness to participate in rotating call schedule including weekends and occasional holiday coverage

Education

• Active RN license required; ADN or BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing skills and familiarity with general OR workflows
• Expertise in sterile technique, instrumentation and surgical patient safety
• Comfortable documenting and navigating Epic EMR
• Ability to triage and prioritize in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Excellent teamwork, communication and situational awareness during cases
• Flexibility to adapt to variable census and staffing-driven rotation changes
