Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to adult patients
- Administer medications and supportive therapies safely, following local protocols and standards
- Perform thorough assessments and monitor patients closely during overnight hours
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in the Cerner EMR
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to create clear, patient-centered plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Triage changes in condition and escalate concerns to providers as needed
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain unit standards
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (experience in oncology or med-surgical preferred)
- BLS certification (required)
- Chemo certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and covering scheduled weekends
- Current immunizations and travel assignment credentialing completed prior to start
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge of oncology and med-surgical nursing care
- Familiarity with chemotherapy handling and safety protocols (if certified)
- Proficient documentation in Cerner or similar EMR systems
- Skilled in IV therapy, patient assessment, and recognizing clinical deterioration
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced unit
- Ability to manage patient ratios typically around 1:4 or 1:5
- Adaptability to float occasionally to other med-surg units
