Shift Type: Rotating nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, schedule set by department; includes every other weekend

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
- Quickly assess and triage patients, prioritizing those in critical need
- Administer medications, manage IVs and operate cardiac monitoring equipment
- Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and unit staff to coordinate efficient care
- Coach and give real-time feedback to support team performance and patient safety
- Document care accurately and promptly in Cerner
- Follow patient experience protocols such as AIDET and keep patients informed throughout their visit
- Support departmental goals in a high-volume, fast-paced emergency setting
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for NC licensure
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center or high-volume ED preferred
- Certifications required before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Hands-on experience with Cerner documentation
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to coach peers; excellent communication and situational awareness
- Previous HCA experience is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency and trauma nursing principles
- Stroke care workflows and NIHSS assessment
- Triage processes and high-volume ED flow management
- Cardiac monitoring and interpreting telemetry
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic documentation
- Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors
- Patient experience practices and culturally sensitive care
