Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Promote dignity and independence through respectful, person-centered interactions
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Participate in care planning and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
• Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality of care

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification in good standing
• Valid state-required certifications and ability to work in Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable assisting with personal care, mobility, and ADLs for older adults
• Able to pass background check, TB screening, and any required health checks
• Friendly, patient, and team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and best practices
• Skill in safe resident transfers, mobility assistance, and fall prevention
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate observations clearly
