Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7 on/7 off rotation (includes every-other-weekend rotation; schedule varies by rotation)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Verify and enter medication orders accurately and efficiently to ensure patient safety
- Perform final dispensing checks and complete required documentation with attention to detail
- Supervise and mentor technical support personnel involved in drug preparation and distribution
- Prepare and perform sterile compounding following ACPE-accredited best practices
- Monitor and review override reports and other pharmacy reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Provide decentralized pharmacy clinical support including vancomycin dosing and renal dosing adjustments
- Use Meditech EMR to document interventions, reconcile meds, and communicate with the care team
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (required)
- Completion of a 20-hour ACPE-accredited sterile compounding course (or equivalent documentation) (required)
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience (prefer at least 2 years)
- Experience with Meditech and decentralized pharmacy workflows (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to perform clinical dosing adjustments (e.g., vancomycin, renal dosing) and review override reports
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of medication order verification and final dispensing processes
- Skilled in sterile compounding techniques and documentation
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR for order entry, documentation and report review
- Clinical knowledge for antimicrobial dosing (vancomycin) and renal dosing adjustments
- Good supervisory skills for overseeing pharmacy technicians and technical staff
- Attention to detail, strong communication, and patient-safety focus
