Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to older adults
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure dietary needs are met
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team and families
• Encourage social engagement and meaningful activities to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Comfortable assisting with physical tasks and transferring residents as needed
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience preferred but new grads with GNA certification are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and infection control
• Skill in safe resident transfers and toileting assistance
• Ability to follow care plans and document observations clearly
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with memory-impaired residents
• Basic vital sign measurement and reporting
• Teamwork, time management, and multitasking in a busy care setting
