Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents, preserving dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques to protect residents and yourself
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
- Accurately document care provided and maintain clear, timely records
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to create a consistent, person-centered care plan
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
Qualifications
- Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads welcome
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by the facility
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach to care
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic resident care practices and ADLs
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Basic vital signs recognition and reporting
- Familiarity with documentation and charting best practices
- Teamwork, reliability, and good time management in a fast-paced care setting
