Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services and assistive interventions to help patients regain independence
- Deliver individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living, adaptive equipment and functional mobility
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create cohesive, patient-centered care plans
- Document treatment progress accurately and timely to support continuity of care
- Coach patients and families on strategies to maximize safety and independence at home
- Participate in team meetings and contribute clinical insights to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Active COTA certification (required)
- California licensure or eligibility to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working in a skilled nursing/rehabilitation setting and adapting to varied patient needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Reliable, professional, and patient-focused with a positive attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL training, therapeutic activity planning, and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with rehab charting best practices
- Ability to perform functional assessments and set measurable treatment goals
- Good clinical judgment when modifying treatments to meet patient tolerance and safety
- Teamwork, time management and the ability to prioritize a full caseload
