Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns
- Support safe mealtime assistance and timely documentation of care
- Create warm, respectful interactions that promote dignity and independence
- Collaborate with nursing staff to follow care plans and ensure continuity
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Prior experience working with older adults or in long-term care helpful
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with good communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills related to resident care and safe transfers
- Familiarity with documentation and charting best practices
- Understanding of infection control and resident safety protocols
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a care team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
