Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and respect
• Provide safe transfer and mobility assistance to promote resident independence
• Monitor and document resident conditions, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support feeding and meal assistance while following care plans and dietary needs
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection control practices
• Engage residents with compassion, offering emotional support and meaningful interaction

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification appropriate for Maryland (required)
• Valid CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Proof of immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM evening shift and flexible per diem availability
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus but enthusiastic new graduates are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Strong communication and teamwork skills when coordinating with nursing staff
• Ability to follow care plans and accurately chart resident information
• Compassion, patience, and respectful interpersonal skills with older adults
