Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the ED
• Assess, triage and prioritize patients rapidly and accurately in a high-volume setting
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, techs and unit clerks to deliver seamless care
• Coach and give real-time feedback to support team development and patient safety
• Document patient care thoroughly and efficiently using Cerner
• Operate and monitor cardiac equipment and infusion devices such as GE monitors and Baxter pumps
• Maintain patient experience standards—use AIDET, keep boards updated, and communicate with patients throughout their visit
• Adhere to unit-specific policies and promote a respectful, inclusive environment for a multicultural community

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
• 2 years’ experience preferred in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
• Certifications required before start or on hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide feedback in real time
• Comfortable floating to all sections within the Emergency Department

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing and triage skills
• Trauma and stroke recognition and management experience
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE cardiac monitors
• Exceptional communication and patient-experience focus (AIDET)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume ED and adapt to changing priorities
• Clinical leadership and the ability to mentor peers on the floor
