Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care and life support interventions for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients
- Operate and manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment with attention to safety and best practices
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and pediatric airway management when needed
- Assess patient respiratory status, develop and implement treatment plans, and adjust therapies based on clinical response
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and coordinate care
- Complete accurate clinical documentation and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
- Participate in competency testing and skills validation to maintain clinical excellence
Qualifications
- Current Respiratory Therapy license or ability to obtain state licensure (license verification required)
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist where applicable
- Ability to pass Trinity 10-panel drug screen, fit test, and color vision testing
- Up-to-date immunizations and screenings: COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, and 2-step PPD or IGRA
- Current physical/health statement as required by the facility
Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent
- Additional advanced training or certifications preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory care protocols
- Skilled in neonatal and pediatric resuscitation techniques
- Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Proficient with respiratory equipment setup, troubleshooting and maintenance
- Good documentation practices and ability to communicate clearly with the care team
- Infection control and patient safety best practices
