Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert cardiac and telemetry nursing care for patients on the Cardiac Medical Unit (CMU)
• Continuously monitor telemetry and promptly identify and escalate arrhythmias or other changes in cardiac status
• Perform and assist with unit procedures such as thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis (PD), tracheostomy care, pacemaker care, and care for post-cardiac cath patients per unit guidelines
• Administer and manage high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP, and complex respiratory support as needed
• Manage IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps and chest tubes while maintaining meticulous documentation in Meditech Expanse
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Deliver bedside shift rounds and structured handoffs to ensure continuity and patient safety
• Support a positive patient experience by providing compassionate, clear communication and education

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience
• Current RN license in the state of practice (or compact license where applicable)
• ASLS and BLS certifications required
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and cardiac management
• Experience with Meditech Expanse or similar electronic health record systems preferred
• Comfortable performing unit procedures listed (thoracentesis, PD, trach care, pacemaker care, CIWA management)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in weekend rotations

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN (active RN license required)
