Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and fall-prevention measures during night hours
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and resident status
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Ensure a clean, comfortable, and dignified environment for residents
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents and their families

Qualifications

• Completion of Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) class or certification (required)
• Current state registration or certification as applicable
• Experience assisting older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus
• Ability to work night shifts and flexible per-diem schedules
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic competency in documentation and following care plans

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA class completion or equivalent certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident dignity
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, safe transfers, toileting and feeding assistance
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Comfortable with accurate charting and shift handoffs
• Ability to observe, prioritize, and escalate changes in resident condition
• Team-oriented attitude and dependable work ethic
