Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Baltimore, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per Diem / As Needed, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift / night; variable days based on staffing needs)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care for residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices
- Engage residents in social and therapeutic activities to enhance quality of life
- Communicate clearly with nurses and care team to ensure continuity of care
- Document care provided in resident charts following facility protocols
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful demeanor
- Ability to lift and assist residents safely according to facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with dementia and memory care approaches
- Skilled in safe transfer and mobility assistance
- Familiarity with vital signs, basic charting, and reporting
- Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Team player with strong interpersonal and time management skills
