Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Support meal service and assist with feeding when needed, observing meal preferences and restrictions
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate observations promptly to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely, ensuring resident records reflect delivered services
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Build positive relationships with residents and families to enhance trust and quality of life

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or state equivalent certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, compassionate approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a GNA training program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of common geriatric care needs and respectful elder care practices
• Ability to assist with safe patient transfers and fall prevention techniques
• Basic infection control and hand hygiene practices
• Clear communication and documentation skills
• Teamwork mindset and reliability in a fast-paced care environment
