Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists, and the OR team to coordinate procedures
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and ensure instrument readiness
• Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process and respond to changes
• Document nursing care and perioperative findings accurately and timely
• Participate in competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Oregon license or applicable compact licensure)
• BLS certification (required)
• Previous operating room (OR) experience preferred
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist as required
• Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, drug screen, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, COVID-19), influenza vaccine, and TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Willingness to complete license/certificate verification and facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing knowledge and sterile technique
• Proficiency with OR workflow, instrument handling, and turnover procedures
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-stakes environments
• Clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to follow facility-specific competency programs and checklists
