Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with patience and professionalism
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
• Support mobility and fall prevention efforts, using safe transfer techniques
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members about resident needs
• Document care and observations in the patient record thoroughly and on time
• Participate in maintaining a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control protocols

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Valid state GNA/Geriatric Nursing Assistant credentials or eligibility to obtain them
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and TB testing per facility policy
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working overnight shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited GNA/Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADLs and basic bedside care for older adults
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection prevention and standard precautions
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
• Basic charting and documentation skills (electronic charting experience a plus)
• Teamwork mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced care setting
