Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents' conditions and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support meal times and ensure nutritional needs are met
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and follow established care plans
• Foster a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance resident wellbeing

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland or state-appropriate certification
• Previous experience working with older adults is preferred but new grads with strong training are welcome
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete required health screenings
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and infection control
• Skillful in safe transfer and mobility techniques
• Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced long-term care setting
