Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED setting
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, and stabilization of patients presenting with acute conditions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following hospital protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Monitor patient status and interpret clinical data to inform timely interventions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible to practice in North Carolina (compact license accepted if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by the facility
• Ability to pass facility onboarding, background checks, and clinical skills validation
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency assessment, triage, and stabilization
• Proficient in IV therapy, medication administration, and EKG interpretation
• Familiarity with emergency workflows and rapid decision-making under pressure
• Effective teamwork and communication with interdisciplinary care teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and time management in a busy ED environment
• Patient education and family-centered care skills
