Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality telemetry nursing care for a 37-bed unit, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, responding quickly to changes in rhythm and condition
• Manage complex equipment and procedures including PCA pumps, IV pumps, chest tubes and central line care
• Safely administer and titrate medication drips while adhering to unit policies and protocols
• Support heart catheterization recovery and bubble study patients with attentive post-procedure care
• Document care accurately in the Meditech EMR and communicate changes effectively with the care team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to maintain appropriate patient ratios and optimize outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential — current licensure required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (Telemetry experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (must-have)
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythms, and post-cath recovery care
• Experience with PCA and IV pump management, chest tube and central line care
• Strong critical thinking skills, independence, and a positive, engaged attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Experience with Meditech EMR documentation
• Competence with PCA pumps, IV pumps and management of chest tubes
• Central line care and safe medication drip administration
• Experience caring for heart cath recovery and bubble study patients
• Ability to work effectively in nurse-to-patient ratios of ~1:6 (1:4 for heart cath patients)
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and collaborative teamwork skills
