Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients before and after surgical, procedural, and interventional cardiology cases
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, review medical history, lab results, and consents to ensure procedural readiness
• Monitor airway, vital signs, telemetry, and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Manage vascular access sites, sheaths, and specialized closure devices during post-anesthesia and post-cath lab recovery
• Administer medications, infusions, and blood products safely, following strict protocols and dual-verification
• Educate patients and families about surgical and cath lab processes, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with surgeons, interventionalists, anesthesiologists, and the care team to ensure seamless patient transitions
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and comply with all safety and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license (or multi-state compact license) in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or Cath Lab recovery nursing
• Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• ATT certification as required
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work on-call rotation, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Comprehensive patient assessment and monitoring
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Post-anesthesia care and PACU recovery
• Cath lab procedural recovery and vascular access management
• ECG/telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Clinical documentation using EHR systems
• Patient education and communication skills
• Blood product administration and transfusion reaction management
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
