Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility to promote independence
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to the nursing team promptly
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with colleagues
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Help create a warm, respectful environment that supports resident dignity and comfort

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent in Maryland
• Valid CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in caring for older adults
• Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic resident care
• Knowledge of infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
• Clear communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
• Ability to follow care plans and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
