Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage and stabilize emergency patients quickly and safely
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage advanced cardiac care as needed
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document care in Cerner accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and unit clerks to coordinate high-volume ED care
• Deliver trauma and stroke care in a fast-paced Level 2 trauma / comprehensive stroke center
• Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to support continuous improvement
• Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Champion excellent patient experience practices (AIDET, respectful communication, frequent updates)

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
• Experience in a high-volume ED, Level 2 trauma center, or comprehensive stroke center strongly preferred
• Current RN licensure appropriate for practice (state or compact as applicable)
• ACLS, BLS and PALS required before start date
• TNCC, CPI and NIHSS required before start date; ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Comfortable working all areas of the ED and open to floating within the department
• Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and deliver constructive feedback

• Emergency nursing and triage best practices
• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Trauma and stroke assessment and interventions
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation system
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient experience focus
