Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support safe mobility and transfers using appropriate body mechanics and equipment
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
• Document care activities clearly and accurately in the resident chart
• Help create a comfortable, respectful living environment that promotes dignity
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe
• Participate in team communication and shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check and health screenings (TB, immunizations) as required
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting their emotional and physical needs
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a care team
• Reliable transportation for per-diem shift coverage in the Baltimore area

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and age-related conditions
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident hygiene needs
• Familiarity with safe transfer techniques and use of mobility aids
• Basic documentation and charting skills; attention to detail
• Ability to observe, prioritize, and report resident changes effectively
• Teamwork mindset and a warm, patient-centered approach
