Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to adult neuro med/surg patients, ensuring safety and comfort
• Monitor telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry to quickly detect changes in condition
• Start and manage IVs, infusions, PCA, feeding pumps and IV pump therapies accurately
• Perform wound care and maintain surgical drains with attention to infection prevention
• Manage nasogastric and chest tube care following unit protocols
• Collaborate with the care team and families, delivering bedside shift report and patient-centered education
• Document care thoroughly in Meditech to maintain clear, compliant patient records
• Prioritize tasks and multitask effectively in a fast-paced PCU environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Med/Surg or PCU experience preferred)
• BLS required; ACLS required
• Comfortable with IV insertion and basic wound care
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and neuro med/surg patient care
• Ability to prioritize care, multitask, and communicate clearly with patients and team members

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation skills and familiarity with continuous monitoring
• Proficiency documenting in Meditech or similar electronic health records
• Experience using IV pumps, feeding pumps, PCA devices and EKG machines
• Comfort with bladder scanner use and continuous pulse oximetry monitoring
• Familiarity with iMobile communication technology for unit coordination
• Excellent prioritization, time management and multitasking abilities
