Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance
• Assist with activities of daily living and ensure patient comfort and dignity at all times
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with nurses and interdisciplinary team
• Help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and families

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Active authorization to practice as a CNA in New Jersey or ability to obtain state authorization
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screening (immunizations, TB test) per facility policy
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to provide compassionate care
• Previous experience in long term care or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and bedside caregiving best practices
• Comfortable with basic patient care tasks including lifts, transfers, and infection control
• Good observation and reporting skills to communicate patient needs clearly
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Teamwork mindset and ability to follow care plans and nursing direction
