Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and act quickly on abnormal rhythms to keep patients safe
- Administer and manage IV medications and drips per protocol with precise documentation
- Provide focused post-operative surgical care including vital sign assessments and wound monitoring
- Manage respiratory support such as BiPAP/CPAP and escalate care when needed
- Perform frequent patient assessments and triage changes in condition
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about recovery, medications, and discharge plans with empathy
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Texas or compact) preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience (PCU/telemetry or med-surg experience welcome)
- Current ACLS and BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) competency required
- Strong customer service and communication skills; team player who adapts to change
- Experience with Meditech is a plus
- Trauma and orthopedic experience is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- IV medication and drip management (Heparin, amiodarone, dobutamine, etc.)
- Post-op surgical and trauma care including PACU transition criteria
- Vital signs assessment and frequent patient reassessment (Q4 patient assessment)
- Familiarity with BiPAP/CPAP and respiratory distress management
- Working knowledge of Meditech EMR workflows
- Ability to handle a fast-paced Level 2 trauma center environment with professionalism
