Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing abilities using evidence-based evaluation tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans that target meaningful functional outcomes
• Deliver skilled therapy sessions and adapt techniques to each patient’s needs
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and maximize patient progress
• Document evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries in a timely, compliant manner
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on strategies to support communication and safe swallowing at home
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and discharge goals
• Maintain professional standards, pursue continuing education, and stay current with best practices

Qualifications

• Active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (required)
• ASHA CCC-SLP credential preferred or eligibility for certification
• Experience in rehabilitation/outpatient settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning and proven ability to create measurable goals
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent graduate degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders
• Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches and standardized assessments
• Skilled documentation for clinical and regulatory requirements
• Comfort working in interdisciplinary rehab environments
• Strong patient and family education skills
• Ability to manage caseload efficiently while providing high-quality care
