Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in the psychiatric program
• Monitor and document patient behavior, mental status, and response to treatment
• Assist with therapeutic activities and interventions under the direction of clinical staff
• Observe medication administration and report concerns to nursing or providers
• Use de-escalation techniques and safety protocols to maintain a secure care environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support care plans and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) credential
• Comfortable and reliable working schedule: Thursday through Monday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Willingness to complete the facility orientation (2 weeks) and required onboarding
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a correctional healthcare setting
• Demonstrated ability to follow safety and documentation procedures

Education

• Completion of an approved LPT training program or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of psychiatric care practices and behavior observation
• De-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Therapeutic communication and patient engagement
• Familiarity with safety protocols in a correctional healthcare environment

This is a travel assignment in Soledad near the Salinas Valley.
