Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM NOC, every other weekend and holiday, with floating to West Campus as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide specialized nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord disorders.
Monitor and assess neurological status, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapies and neuro-specific protocols.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Educate patients and families on neurological diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery processes.
Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa (or compact state) required.
BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required.
Minimum of 1-2 years of neuro nursing experience preferred.
Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays, and float to different units as needed.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for complex neurological patients.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in neuro assessment tools and monitoring equipment.
Flexibility and adaptability to floating and changing patient assignments.
Ability to maintain composure and prioritize care during emergencies.
