Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional patient care to adult and geriatric populations during cardiovascular procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and high-quality outcomes
• Provide holistic support addressing the physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs of patients in a surgical and procedural environment
• Collaborate closely with physicians, offering continuous updates and timely communication regarding patient status before, during, and after procedures
• Prepare and maintain procedure rooms, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and ready for use
• Manage supplies and inventory, gathering case-specific materials for efficient workflow
• Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, interpreting and responding to changes rapidly
• Continuously assess and document patient condition in the Cardiovascular Lab, maintaining thorough and precise records
• Support quality initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and operational excellence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab or Critical Care environment
• Current BCLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required upon hire and maintained throughout employment
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Strong cardiovascular procedural knowledge and patient monitoring skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience

• Cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Sterile technique and infection control
• IV therapy and medication administration
• Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making
