Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $98 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess vision and eye health
Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma and cataracts
Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic treatments
Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients
Educate patients on proper eye care and preventive measures
Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure integrated patient care

Qualifications

Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
Active optometry license in California or ability to obtain quickly
Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
Clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred
Strong communication skills and a compassionate patient approach

Education

Doctor of Optometry (OD)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in comprehensive eye examination techniques
Knowledge of ocular pharmacology and disease management
Familiarity with diagnostic equipment like slit lamps and retinal cameras
Ability to interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe appropriate treatments
Excellent interpersonal skills to connect with patients and staff
