Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (nights). Schedule includes weekends (typically 4-5 weekend shifts in a 6-week period), holiday coverage, floating as helping hands, and one on-call shift of your choice per 6-week schedule block

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate labor, delivery and postpartum care for mothers and newborns
• Monitor fetal status and interpret strips using AWHONN fetal monitoring standards
• Titrate oxytocin and manage drips per unit protocols to support safe labor progress
• Respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies, applying NRP/ACLS/BLS as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (anesthesia, OB, neonatology, RT) to coordinate care
• Document comprehensively in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Support birthing patients through all phases in an LDRP model, including triage and postpartum teaching

Qualifications

• Active RN license (License to submit: Yes)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery and postpartum experience
• Required certifications: NRP, ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Comfort and experience titrating oxytocin and managing common OB diagnoses (HTN, pre-eclampsia, preterm labor, TOLAC)
• Experience using EPIC charting preferred
• Ability to float as a helping hand throughout the hospital when needed

Education

• Active RN license (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and Delivery and Postpartum clinical expertise
• Fetal monitoring and AWHONN guidelines
• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and adult/pediatric life support (ACLS/BLS)
• Oxytocin titration and management of common OB drips
• Experience in triage and high-risk obstetrics (TOLAC, pre-eclampsia)
• Familiarity with GE telemetry/EFM systems and bedside monitoring
• Competence with respiratory equipment support presence on unit (vent/CPAP/BiPAP) and when to call RT
• Charting proficiency in EPIC
