Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to assigned patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop care plans, and execute nursing interventions
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the charting system and support Meditech workflows where applicable
• Respond to changes in patient condition using BLS/ACLS and NIHSS protocols as needed
• Float between departments in rotation, adapting quickly and supporting unit needs
• Support a positive unit culture by being a reliable team player and helping cover shifts when needed

Qualifications

• Current Washington State RN license or valid Multi-state (compact) RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Approved 6-hour suicide prevention training completed
• Nursys demographic verification completed
• Med/Surg nursing experience (clinical competence in medical-surgical care)
• Willingness to float between departments and pick up extra shifts
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability

Education

• Active RN licensure required (Washington State or multi-state compact)

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg nursing best practices and patient assessment skills
• Proficiency with bedside care workflows and documentation
• Familiarity with Meditech is helpful (but not required)
• Competence in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS application
• Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environments and collaborate across teams
• Flexibility to float to other departments and support varied patient populations
