Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver precise radiation therapy treatments to patients in the Radiation Oncology unit, following physician prescriptions and safety protocols
• Operate and troubleshoot treatment systems including Varian Aria, Varian Eclipse, and Elekta to ensure accurate dose delivery
• Perform patient setup, immobilization, and verification to optimize treatment reproducibility and comfort
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and nursing staff to coordinate patient care and treatment planning
• Document treatments and patient responses in the electronic charting system (Cerner) accurately and timely
• Educate and support patients and families about treatment procedures, expectations, and safety measures
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional policies, including ARRT and state licensure standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist
• California License in Radiation Therapy (required)
• ARRT – T (Therapist) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Hands-on experience with Varian Aria, Varian Eclipse, Elekta, MS4, Teletracker, and Patient Select
• Proficiency with Cerner and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to manage a patient load of ~10–20 patients per day
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary oncology team

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiation Therapy and Radiation Oncology clinical best practices
• Operation of Varian Aria and Varian Eclipse treatment planning/workflow
• Experience with Elekta treatment systems
• Familiarity with department software: MS4, Teletracker, Patient Select
• Electronic charting in Cerner and solid documentation practices
• Strong patient education, empathy, and interpersonal communication
• Safety-focused mindset and adherence to radiation protection principles
