Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals
• Provide skilled therapy interventions and adjust plans based on progress
• Document clinical findings, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely manner
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to support coordinated care
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies to carry over gains to daily life
• Participate in discharge planning and ensure safe transitions to next level of care
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• Active or eligible for Maryland state SLP license
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience in adult inpatient rehabilitation or similar settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and teamwork mindset
• Current basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification per facility policy
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in dysphagia assessment and management
• Proficient with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing therapy techniques
• Comfortable working with interdisciplinary rehab teams
• Strong documentation and electronic medical record familiarity
• Excellent patient and family education and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively
