Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in the emergency department
Triage and assess patients quickly to prioritize treatment
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Collaborate with physicians and the ED team to implement care plans
Document assessments, interventions and patient responses in the EHR
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
Respond to emergency situations with calm, effective interventions
Maintain infection control standards and safe clinical practice

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
Prior emergency department experience preferred; strong assessment skills required
Excellent communication, critical thinking and multitasking abilities
Ability to work independently on per-diem shifts and integrate with established teams

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong triage and rapid assessment skills
Familiarity with emergency procedures and protocols
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) documentation
IV therapy, medication administration and wound care skills
Ability to prioritize under pressure and maintain patient safety
