Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations with precision and care
• Assist the interventional cardiology team during structural heart and peripheral interventions
• Prepare, manage, and monitor mechanical circulatory support devices such as Impella
• Support PPM/AICD implant procedures and provide post-procedure monitoring
• Assess and monitor patient hemodynamics, cardiac rhythms, and vascular access sites
• Maintain sterile technique and adherence to cath lab safety protocols
• Document procedures, assessments, and patient education in the medical record clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (required)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (preferred/required depending on facility)
• Previous cath lab or interventional cardiology experience (experience with structural heart, peripheral interventions, PPM/AICD implants, and Impella is highly valued)
• Comfort with sterile procedures, vascular access care, and acute cardiac monitoring
• Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to function calmly in high-acuity situations

Education

• Active RN license in Arizona
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of cardiac catheterization laboratory workflows and equipment
• Skill in monitoring hemodynamics, interpreting telemetry and EKGs
• Familiarity with structural heart procedures and peripheral vascular interventions
• Experience managing temporary and permanent cardiac devices (PPM/AICD) and Impella support
• Proficiency with sterile technique, procedural prep, and post-procedure patient care
• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and clear documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
