Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners (Siemens Sensation 64 and GE LightSpeed 16) to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Lead and coordinate the imaging team during shifts — serve as charge/management when scheduled
• Perform a range of CT exams including virtual colonography and gated procedures when requested
• Triage and image ER and trauma patients efficiently and compassionately
• Use Cerner and McKesson PACS for accurate charting and image management
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with BLS and ARRT standards
• Participate in unit-specific orientation (typically 3–4 shifts) and ongoing training

Qualifications

• ARRT-CT and ARRT-R certification required
• Valid California radiologic technologist license required
• BLS certification required
• Management/charge experience is a must — demonstrated leadership on shift
• Minimum 2 years of relevant CT/imaging experience (as listed in job details)
• Comfort working with ER and trauma patient populations and fast-paced scanning ratios (10–20 scans depending on shift)

Education

• Certifications required: ARRT-CT and ARRT-R (CA license)
• Formal radiologic technologist training (associate degree or equivalent commonly expected); BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Siemens Sensation 64 and GE LightSpeed 16 operation
• Experience with Cerner EMR and McKesson PACS workflows
• Skilled in a range of CT protocols including virtual colonography and gated studies
• Strong patient assessment, positioning, and radiation safety practices
• Ability to manage workflow and prioritize high-volume scanning periods
• Familiarity with night coverage protocols (Nighthawk) and escalation procedures
