Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and occupational needs to create meaningful goals
• Develop individualized treatment plans that promote independence and safety
• Implement therapeutic activities using evidence-based interventions and adaptive equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Document progress accurately and timely in the patient's medical record
• Educate patients and families on strategies, home programs, and adaptive techniques
• Adapt interventions to meet the unique needs of a diverse patient population
• Advocate for patient-centered care and help patients achieve their daily living goals

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy license in California or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Active OTR/L credential (or will obtain prior to start)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced healthcare setting
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and professional communication

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's, MOT, OTD, or equivalent) as required by state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessment, ADL training, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Experience with documentation and care planning in an acute or post-acute setting
• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, splinting, and patient safety principles
• Ability to coach patients and families with clear, compassionate instruction
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize caseload effectively
