Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care for patients in the Progressive Care Unit and step-down ICU
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret telemetry strips to support timely clinical decisions
• Deliver safe medication administration using Pyxis and document care in Meditech
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugars and manage BIPAP/respiratory support as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered plans of care
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Float to other acute units (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER) when needed and maintain competency

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment (candidate must obtain if not currently licensed)
• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Progressive care and telemetry experience preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred; PALS preferred; NIHSS certification preferred
• Comfort and experience with continuous cardiac monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Experience with Meditech charting and Pyxis medication systems
• Willingness to float to other acute units and adapt to variable assignments
• Professional dress in scrubs and dependable attendance
