Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, direct patient care including hygiene assistance, transfers, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Assist with daily living activities while preserving patient dignity and comfort
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of patient care and observations
• Follow infection control protocols and contribute to a safe environment for patients and staff
• Collaborate with nurses and multidisciplinary team members to support patient care plans

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Valid BLS/CPR certification (preferred)
• Ability to pass background check and any facility-specific screening
• Comfort working night shifts and in a correctional facility environment (facility: California Men's Colony)
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient hygiene, toileting, and mobility assistance
• Accurate vital signs measurement and basic patient assessment
• Familiarity with infection control and universal precautions
• Reliable documentation and charting practices
• Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical staff
• Ability to work calmly in higher-acuity or secured settings
