Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive adult echocardiography studies using 2D, Doppler CW & PW, color flow mapping and related modalities to deliver accurate diagnostic images
• Conduct 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) studies in collaboration with the cardiology team
• Assess and document valvular disease, cardiomyopathies, pericardial disease and effusions with clinical clarity and attention to detail
• Enter findings and maintain accurate patient records in Epic EMR starting November 1, 2025
• Provide compassionate patient care and education during imaging procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation
• Float to other departments as needed to support patient care and department workflow
• Respond to on-call requests professionally and promptly when appropriate

Qualifications

• RDCS certification required; ARDMS or CCI also accepted or preferred
• Active AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years experience in an acute hospital setting
• Demonstrated competency in adult echocardiography including 2D-mode, Doppler CW & PW, color flow mapping and valvular disease studies
• Experience with 2D and 3D TEE procedures
• Epic EMR experience or willingness to train on Epic (go-live Nov 1, 2025)
• Pediatric echocardiography experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to float to other departments and participate in on-call rotation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic cardiac sonography or echocardiography program preferred
• RDCS/ARDMS/CCI certification required as noted in qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in Adult Echocardiography, 2D Echocardiography, Doppler CW and PW
• Experienced with color flow mapping, valvular disease assessment, cardiomyopathies and pericardial evaluations
• Proficient in 2D and 3D TEE techniques and peri-procedural support
• Familiarity with Canon i700 and Canon i900 imaging equipment
• Comfortable documenting in Epic EMR and collaborating with multi-disciplinary care teams
• Able to handle acute hospital workflows and provide high-quality patient-centered imaging
