Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and re-evaluate assigned patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings to guide care
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with physician orders
• Create and update home exercise programs to support patient progress beyond the clinic
• Independently manage a full caseload while prioritizing patient safety and outcomes
• Maintain timely, accurate EMR documentation using Net Health Therapy and Meditech
• Determine appropriate timing for re-evaluations based on clinical status and insurance authorization needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Provide compassionate care across acute and rehab units, adapting interventions to adult patients

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii State occupational therapy license required by assignment start date
• Minimum 2 years of work experience treating adults in outpatient and acute settings
• BLS certification from the American Red Cross required
• Proven experience with EMR systems, specifically Net Health Therapy and Meditech
• Comfortable working hospital-based schedules and covering holidays as operational needs dictate
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to manage a full caseload independently

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (OTR) or equivalent clinical degree required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and re-evaluation best practices
• Treatment planning and therapeutic intervention strategies
• Designing and coaching home exercise programs
• Caseload management and prioritization
• EMR documentation standards and workflows (Net Health Therapy, Meditech)
• Understanding of insurance authorization and re-evaluation timing
• Experience across acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient settings
