Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care for birthing families
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using basic fetal monitoring and intervene appropriately
• Perform newborn assessments and provide newborn care in the nursery
• Triage and evaluate patients presenting in labor or with obstetric concerns
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, family-centered care
• Participate in high-risk neonatal stabilization when necessary and escalate care per protocol
• Support GYN surgical care when required and maintain sterile technique and perioperative safety
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with families and the care team

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider BLS required
• AHA ACLS and NRP required
• Basic Fetal Monitoring skills required
• Experience in triage, labor & delivery, postpartum and nursery required
• STABLE certification preferred and prior experience with high-risk neonatal stabilization is a plus
• Comfort working night shifts and rotating weekends; ability to cover one 12-hour on-call shift per pay period

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in fetal monitoring interpretation and maternal assessment
• Strong newborn care and neonatal stabilization fundamentals
• Triage decision-making and prioritization in obstetric settings
• Familiarity with postpartum care and family-centered teaching
• Ability to assist with GYN surgical procedures and perioperative nursing tasks
• Effective communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy
