Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the physical therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions including gait training and therapeutic exercise
• Monitor and document patient progress accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on home programs and safety strategies to support recovery
• Prepare treatment areas and ensure equipment is safe, clean, and ready for use
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Report changes in patient status promptly and contribute to problem solving care plans

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in New Hampshire or eligible for state licensure
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Comfortable with clinical documentation and electronic health records
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team
• Previous experience in inpatient rehab or outpatient settings is a plus

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise programs and gait training techniques
• Familiarity with modalities commonly used in physical therapy practice
• Skilled in patient assessment, progress measurement, and goal-driven care
• Ability to instruct and motivate patients and caregivers effectively
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Good time management, documentation accuracy, and professional bedside manner
