Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based Labor and Delivery nursing care for birthing patients during the night shift
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpret assessments, and escalate changes in condition promptly
• Administer medications and interventions following unit protocols and physician orders
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesia, and neonatal teams to support positive birth outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately and timely
• Support patients and families with compassionate education, pain management, and emotional support during labor and delivery
• Participate in unit-specific competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (license/certificate verification will be completed)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• NIHSS certification as listed in the posting
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing as required
• Required health screenings/vaccinations: COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Fit Test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, physical/health statement, and Trinity 10 panel drug screen

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Labor & Delivery clinical assessment and fetal monitoring skills
• Proficiency in neonatal resuscitation principles and emergency response
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced labor and delivery setting
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and adherence to unit protocols
• Comfort with competency testing and continuous skills validation
