Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare patients for nuclear medicine studies and perform high-quality diagnostic scans in accordance with established standards and protocols.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot imaging equipment including gamma camera, dose calibrator, survey meters, well counter, and thyroid uptake probe.
Ensure radiation safety and proper radiopharmaceutical administration while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
Communicate findings and coordinate care with radiologists and physicians; document procedures and report equipment issues promptly.
Participate in teaching and instructional activities and provide compassionate care to patients of all ages.

Qualifications

Current Hawaii license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (required).
Current BLS/HCP certification (required).
One (1) year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, radiopharmaceutical administration, radiation safety protocols, and equipment operation.
Strong communication and critical thinking skills; ability to work independently in a single-tech rural hospital setting.

Education

Current Hawaii Nuclear Medicine Technologist license (required)
BLS/HCP certification (required)
Formal training or degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent per state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

Patient preparation and positioning for nuclear medicine studies
Radiopharmaceutical administration and dose calculations
Radiation safety and use of leaded protective equipment
Proficient operation of gamma cameras, dose calibrators, survey meters, and related equipment
Experience with documentation and communication with radiologists/physicians
Ability to teach and provide instruction to students or staff
